A dental emergency is not something you can schedule. Most of the people we treat call us between 9 PM and 6 AM, when every other office in Orlando is closed and the pain has gone from annoying to unbearable. That is the entire reason this practice exists and has done since 1992.

Call first, even if you plan to walk in. Two minutes on the phone means we can prepare the room, quote you a price, and tell you exactly what to do in the meantime — which often makes the wait considerably less painful.

When it is a hospital emergency, not a dental one

Go to a hospital emergency room first if you have swelling that is closing an eye or spreading into your neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, a fever alongside facial swelling, or a jaw injury from a fall or a crash. A dental infection that has reached that stage is a medical emergency and needs hospital care before dental care.

For everything else — and that is the overwhelming majority of what walks through our door — an emergency dentist is faster, cheaper and far more useful than an ER, because a hospital cannot fill, extract, or root-canal a tooth. They can only give you antibiotics and painkillers and tell you to find a dentist.

Common questions

What counts as a real dental emergency?

Pain that stops you sleeping or eating, facial swelling, a knocked-out or broken tooth, bleeding that will not stop, a lost crown or filling on a sharp tooth, or a broken brace cutting your cheek. If you are unsure, call — we will tell you honestly whether it can wait.

When should I go to a hospital ER instead?

Go to an emergency room, not a dentist, if you have swelling that is closing your eye or spreading down your neck, difficulty breathing or swallowing, a fever with facial swelling, or a jaw injury from significant trauma. Those need hospital care first. We will say so on the phone if that is what you describe.

Do you treat children?

Yes. See children’s dental emergencies — a knocked-out baby tooth and a knocked-out adult tooth need completely different handling.
