Toothache and nerve pain
Severe toothache in Orlando?
Pain keeping you awake or flaring when you bite? Tell Dr. Sidawi where it hurts and what has changed. He can discuss how soon to examine it at his International Drive office.

When does a toothache need a dentist?
Pain when you bite, hot or cold sensitivity that lingers, swelling, or a toothache that keeps you from sleeping deserves a dental exam. These signs can have different causes. They do not, by themselves, mean you need a root canal.
What can you do while you wait?
- Rinse your mouth gently with warm water.
- If food is caught between your teeth, floss gently.
- Do not put aspirin directly on the tooth or gum.
- Avoid chewing on the painful side.
These steps will not treat the cause of the pain. Call for advice about your situation.
Tell Dr. Sidawi what changed
Did the pain start after a filling or broken tooth? Does it hurt to bite? Is your gum or face swollen? If you are visiting Orlando, tell him when you leave. These details help him discuss the next suitable visit; an exam determines treatment.
Dr. Sidawi handles root canal cases himself. If that treatment may be needed, read about urgent root canal care in Orlando.
When to seek emergency medical care
If you have trouble breathing or swallowing, or swelling spreading toward your eye or neck, go to an emergency department instead of waiting for a dental visit.
