The route, and how long it really takes

From SeaWorld or Aquatica: north on International Drive. Usually 7–12 minutes; it is a straight run up the same road.

From Discovery Cove: the same route, allow a couple of minutes more.

The water parks generate a specific kind of emergency: chipped and knocked-out front teeth from slides, steps and pool edges. If a tooth has been knocked out, the clock starts immediately — see what to do with a knocked-out tooth before you even leave the park.

Drive times are typical estimates and depend heavily on traffic — International Drive at park closing is slow.

First Aid can help. It cannot treat the tooth.

Every major park has a First Aid center staffed by registered nurses, marked on the park map and in the app. They are genuinely helpful and worth visiting: they will give you ice, over-the-counter pain relief and somewhere quiet and air-conditioned to sit down. What they cannot do is treat the tooth. There is no dentist on site, no dental X-ray, and no way to drain an abscess, cover an exposed nerve, re-cement a crown or take a tooth out. They will tell you to find a dentist — which, at nine in the evening, is where we come in.

What to tell the hotel or concierge

SeaWorld’s First Aid will help with pain and ice but cannot treat the tooth. If you are asking a hotel to arrange transport, be specific: an emergency dentist on International Drive, not a medical clinic. If a tooth has been knocked out, say so — it changes how urgently everyone moves.

How the evening usually goes

3:30 PM — a slide or a pool edge does the damage. Water-park injuries happen in daylight, not at night, which means you can often be treated and back before the evening.

3:35 PM — you call from the poolside. If a tooth is out, we tell you to put it in milk immediately and come straight away.

4:00 PM — you arrive. Free parking in front of the building.

Often back at the hotel by early evening with the rest of the trip intact.

Parking and finding the door

We are at 7259 International Drive, on the second floor, at the corner of International Drive and Carrier Drive — directly across from the Titanic show. There is free surface parking right in front of the building, so you are not paying for a garage or hunting for a meter at midnight. If you are in a rideshare, ask to be dropped at the front of the building rather than the plaza entrance.

Questions from visitors

My child chipped a tooth on a slide. Is that urgent?

It depends on how deep the chip goes and whether it is a baby or permanent tooth. Call and describe it — see children’s dental emergencies for what to do in the meantime.

The tooth came out completely. What do I do at the pool?

Pick it up by the crown, never the root, do not scrub it, and get it into milk immediately. Then call us and come now — the first 30 minutes matter more than anything else.

Are you open on holidays?

Yes, including the ones when every other dental office in Orlando is shut. That is much of the point of the practice.
